Morning!
The stock market….it’s about as heavenly as a lead balloon right now. Wouldn’t you say?
As a recruiter, are you currently taking advantage of this turmoil?
Think about it. True, hiring might be a weee bit dismal right now in these sectors…but that DOESN’T mean this downturn will continue to haunt the economy for the next 13 years. Now is an excellent time to beef up your candidate network with the super-smart financial professionals who, alas, will be laid off sooner as opposed to later.
How can you do this, I hear you ask?
Simple! Make certain your financial recruiter’s site has the kind of information that makes it a destination resource for all manners of financial professionals, of course.
And here’s how you can do this.
Step 1.) Revisit your Candidate Resource section of your website.
You do have this, right? It’s a section on your site that targets useful information for your job seekers.
Make certain you include resources for dealing with layoffs, balancing the job hunt with mental sanity, how to revitalize one’s career and the like.
Step 2.) Make certain your career ezine is visible.
Running your own financial career ezine is a fantastic way to get your name out in front of future candidates week after week. Think about it this way – once someone does decide they need assistance in finding a new position, which is the recruiter they’ll choose? Joe Nameless off of the big job boards or the recruiter who has proven herself or himself by offering great career insights for free?
Step 3.) Beef up your recruiter social networking
Do you have a profile on Facebook? LinkedIn? Twitter? If so, did you know there are dozens of subgroups available that focus on all sorts of topics….that will enable you to broaden your passive candidate network with the greatest of ease?
Now….remember your goal here. You’re building up a sterling list of hireable candidates that will stand you in good stead once the economy turns around. But not only that…you’re offering a helping hand to future job seekers who will then remember your good deeds in the future!
And that’s something you simply cannot beat.
Enjoy,
