Morning!
If there’s one place you can count on supremely excellent recruiter and sourcer advice, it’s the Magic Method! Today there was a sourcing chat entitled
How to find sourcing work in these scary times
(gotta love titles like that!)
and the content is just plain top-notch. To wit:
…How do you drum up new business?
…I read an article a couple of days ago that reminded me we can’t control the external stuff - we can just control the activity on our desk
…it is a fine line. I don’t cross that line. Do I always tell the truth? - no. Does anyone get hurt? no. I fired a recruiter for purporting (sp) to be a doctor in the ER with an urgent message for someone. That’s borderline criminal
…The company doesn’t get hurt. I am actually helping THEM too! I didn’t hold a gun to the candidate’s head. He/she had a reason to listen to me in the 1st place. That person was going to leave anyway.
…I took some of my own advice and started cold calling…low and behold I drummed up some new biz!
…Think about it - the people you and I chase everyday are not likely to become unemployed any time soon - but they are likely to require a whole different set of skill sets than what many recruiters possess today. Meaning…recruiters are going to have to sharpen their sales skills…..
Definitely check it out HERE!
Enjoy,
