Rail Road Museum!Morning!

Thanks so much for stopping by my blog!  Hope the day has been treating you and yours well…me, heck, I’m on my 4th cup of coffee, so everything is coming up caffeine.

But I digress.  :)

Last week my family and I had the wonderful opportunity to tour the PA RailRoad Museum; what an incredibly magnificent time we had!!

The locomotives built back then are still resplendent today with shining personality – the amount of history those iron marvels must have witness just staggers the mind.

But I digress a second time.  :)

While there, I realized….railroads are still quite popular indeed (all together now – "Duh!"  :)   ).   Think about logistics, distribution, transportation, the subway, private railcars, etc….. lots of industries are connected with the railways!

Thus, if you’re looking for railroad professionals, I present for your enjoyment railroad associations and railroad job boards like so.

Railway Associations

You can start at:

Next, consider moseying along to:

Railroad Job Boards

Got an insane desire to find niche railway job boards?  First off, of course look to the prior associations and see if they run any membership-only railroad job sites, and then jump to:

Hope the above resources are helpful!  One thing I would like to emphasize – make certain you have at your fingertips BEFORE you contact any potential candidate the following 3 data points:

  • Why should a candidate use YOUR service compared to other recruiters?  What do you bring to the table that other recruiters lack?
  • Do you have a recruiter website?  If so, do you highlight your happy customer/client testimonials?  Your track experience?  Resources railroad job seekers can use to become more knowledgeable in the Railway industry, such as Railroad Training?
  • Do you have an optin newsletter/ezine on your website so you can continuously reinforce your name/brand on potential job seekers via quality weekly newsletters?

Remember….recruiting is a customer service industry.  That’s two words, you know…."customer" and "service"!  Make certain to always deliver above and beyond…and your good name will travel farther than you would ever dream to imagine.

Enjoy,

Barbara Ling

ps – it wouldn’t be a true Ling vacation if yours truly didn’t "walk the walk" wrt her kids and show them that yes!  One can take care of exercise requirements anywhere!  :)    (the below photo was taken of me doing my 6th batch of 50 pushups; my total for that day was 350.  My eldest found how my expressions changed most amusing as the hours crept by.    :)

Always time to do pushups!

ps – speaking about railroad goodies, have you seen:
