Morning all,
It’s a fine beautiful sunny day here in NJ, shortly to become a big huge seething mass of torrential downpours and dark dreary skies. And one thinks that the East Coast ISN’T a delightful place in which to live!
But I digress.
Today I’d like to chat about your most precious business assets…your candidates and your clients. Are you taking good ENOUGH care of them?
Good enough care, I hear you wonder? Yes indeed….good ENOUGH, meaning….
Are you proactively offering them resources to help them cope with the coming economic crash?
Oh, sure, the economy actually might NOT crash headlong into the Titanic…but don’t you think you’d look rather proactive if you addressed potential candidate/client concerns without them having to ask?
‘course you would! And here are some easy ways to do so!
Step 1.) Give your candidates resources for office politics.
Betcha you didn’t think THAT would be my first suggestion! But the fact is….when ships are sinking, rats band together to mutiny and survive ahead of all others. In other words….let’s climb to success upon the backs of others!
Seriously however….people will ALWAYS look out for number one….and alas, that means office politics to the max. Thus, give your candidates resources like:
Next, tackle:
Step 2.) Address their work/home stress.
A tanking economy means mucho stress both at home and at the office. Point your candidates to resources like:
- Balancing Work and Family Stress
- Is your job killing you?
- Managing the Stress of Layoff and Unemployment
- Work, Kids, Family: Coping with Stress
And don’t forget:
Step 3.) Ask them to take stock of their responsibilities
Sometimes the writing will not only be on the wall, but it will be etched into their foreheads if only they choose to look into a mirror. Proactively nudge your candidates to really take stock of what they’re currently doing and try to get a sense of their group’s stability….fore-warned can always be slanted into fore-armed.
The above 3 tips are extremely easy to implement! You can craft an ezine issue around it, send out a ‘just touching base’ email etc….the main point to internalize is that you want to give freely of your talents in this particular time.
It will come back to you in benefits long long long after tomorrow ends.
Enjoy!
