Tell me, are you on Twitter?
I’ll be writing more about that later on (hopefully, say, after I’ve recovered from my bout of food poisoning, to which you’re probably thinking, hmmmm, if you’re that sick, what are you doing blogginer? Great question; my son demonstrated an superb lack of common sense by waking me up after my last bout of retching to inquire, and I kid you not, "Mom, might I have a cookie?" Talk about choosing the WRONG time for such pointed questions about existence….but I digress. :) ), but wanted to to offer this one tidbit should you decide to jump into the word of microblogging:
Take advantage of it!
Twitter (and Stumbleupon and Facebook and tons of other social networking sites) allows you to post a direct link back to your website on your profile. Here’s what mine looks like:
Notice that link in red? You see, instead of directing people back to one of my main sites (in this case, BarbaraLing.com), I sent them to my Barbara Ling Twelcome page (Twitter, Twelcome, get it?).
After all, should people find your site via Twitter, there’s a fair chance they’re Twitter users as well.
So why not proactively welcome them with information they’d find useful as well?

Remember, the point is simple - your’re on Twitter, your visitor CAME from Twitter, write a special welcome page just for them that shows how yo USE
