Recruiter Recovery

Morning!

Gerry of CareerXRoads wrote the following great post:

What Should Staffing Leaders Be Doing Now to Plan for the Hiring of Recruiters During Recovery?

I urge you to check it out – the man definitely knows what he is talking about.

In addition, however, I’d like to ask YOU the following.  Once the recruiter recovery is upon us (and if you’ll be competing for recruiting postion), tell me.

Just WHY should you be hired as opposed to your recruiter colleagues?

Hmmmm?

I mean, let’s be more serious than a porcupine playing in a balloon factory, okay?  Fact is, there’s a wee bit more unemployed recruiters out there than, oh, hmmm, say, the number of leaves that are currently burying my car in the autumn’s fall.

And that means….you simply HAVE to stand out.  And there’s no better time than today to begin that process!

At the very least, you should have at your fingertips:

Your personal branded website.

The advent of Web 2.0 and personal branding joys that abound on the Internet make it critical that YOU yourself become a brand.  For example, when people think of Jim Stroud, they think "oh yeah, the Searchologist – that guy who can make Google dance".  And when they think of Maureen Sharib, they think, "yep, that’s the original pioneer of telephone sourcing.David Perry?  "Right – that’s the Guerilla Job Hunting recruiter!"

In other words, they have a specific quality and skillset behind their names.

Have you been taking the time to build your brand the same way?

Hmmmm?

Remember….the perception is that anyone can be a recruiter (just like anyone can be in sales or anyone can be a teacher or anyone can ….).  Your challenge is to showcase that while "anyone" can be a recruiter, only YOU can deliver the fantastic quality and customer service your clients deserve.

A personal branded website can go a long way to helping you achieve that indeed!

And it’s beyond easy to do that – you can start one for free over at

Here’s some nifty examples of recruiters who have their own website and have branded their own uniqueness:

So….if you’re planning on wowing your clients with your skills and abilities, do give yourself that added edge by offering them tangible PROOF as to what you can deliver.

Your future income will thank you fot it.

Enjoy,
